芽孢杆菌科的一属细菌

芽孢桿菌屬学名Bacillus)是芽孢杆菌科的一属细菌,屬於革蘭氏陽性菌,包括模式生物枯草芽孢桿菌和著名的致病菌炭疽桿菌等。此屬細菌中有專性需氧菌兼性厭氧菌,他們遍佈於各種環境,有些獨立存在亦有些會寄生於其他生物。在不適合生存的情況下,此屬細菌可以轉化為內生孢子以進入休眠狀態,此休眠狀態可以持續很久。
