该市位于科罗拉多州格伦伍德斯普林斯以南约 40 英里（64 公里）处的咆哮福克河谷东南（上）端，咆哮福克河是科罗拉多河的一条支流。它三面环山，四周是荒野：北面是红山（Red Mountain），东面是走私者山（Smuggler Mountain），南面是阿斯彭山（Aspen Mountain）。
阿斯本位于北纬 39°11′32″ 西经 106°49′28″，[2] 沿 82 号州立公路而建。
根据 2020 年美国人口普查，该市总面积为 2,469 英亩（9.992 平方公里），全部为陆地[3]。

根据柯本气候分类法，阿斯彭属于湿润大陆性气候（柯本：Dfb），因为其海拔较高。昼夜温差较大，在该纬度地区，夏季白天温度适中，冬季夜晚非常寒冷。夏季最低气温和冬季最高气温相对适中，夏季很少出现霜冻，冬季平均气温通常在零度以上。
