保羅·哈吉斯

保羅·哈吉斯 (英語：Paul Edward Haggis，1953年3月10日—) 是一名加拿大編劇、電影導演和監製。早期他出品和導演了大量的各種類型的美國和加拿大劇集。

1953年他生於加拿大倫敦[1]，父母為愛德華 （Edward H. Haggis） 和 瑪莉（Mary Yvonne） (Metcalf)[2]。家庭是天主教家庭[3]，不過直到加入山達基以前他卻自認為是一個無神之境論者（35年後的2009年退教）[4]。由於他父母在當地擁有劇院，因此他獲得了在劇院工作的許多經驗[5]。他先在St. Thomas More Elementary School 上學[6]，後來由於被希區考克和尚盧·高達所影響，開始到 H. B. Beal Secondary School 學習藝術[1]。在他看了米開朗基羅·安東尼奧尼導演的1966年電影《春光乍現》 （Blowup） 後，他開始懷著成為一名時尚攝影師的願望到英格蘭旅遊[1]。後來他回到了加拿大的 Fanshawe College 學習電影攝影[1]。1975年，他搬到加州洛杉磯居住，開始從事為影視編寫劇本的工作[1][5]。

2004年他編劇的《登峰造擊》為他獲得奧斯卡最佳改編劇本獎提名，該片贏得最佳影片、導演等四個大獎。2004年他編劇並執導的《衝擊效應》獲得奧斯卡最佳影片獎、奧斯卡最佳原創劇本獎和最佳剪輯三個獎，並為他獲得最佳導演提名。

2022年6月19日，哈吉斯在義大利南部被捕，罪名是他與一名「年輕的外國女士」發生了未經同意的性關係。[8]
