桃花心木
- 西印度群島桃花心木（Swietenia mahagoni）[1]產自古巴、巴哈馬等加勒比海國家和美國佛羅里達州；
- 大葉桃花心木（Swietenia macrophylla）產自宏都拉斯和秘魯、巴西等中南美國家。
- 非洲桃花心木（Khaya）產自奈及利亞、黃金海岸等西非洲國家。
- 墨西哥桃花心木（Swietenia humilis）產自墨西哥。

被稱為「菲律賓桃花心木」的植物屬龍腦香科（Dipterocarpaceae），並非桃花心木。
桃花心木是受保護的植物。桃花心木可被製成紅色硬木，主要用於高檔家具、眼鏡、樂器的製造和遊艇、高檔汽車的裝璜等。
栽植情況 編輯
在台灣以及中國各省福建、廣東、廣西、海南、雲南等地區均栽有桃花心木。[4]:44
巴貝多也有引進這種樹木。
危害 編輯
在菲律賓，它可能會導致土壤酸化，對當地的野生動物也沒什麼好處。出於這些對環境造成的負面影響，許多當地的環保人士都在呼籲停止種植桃花心木。[5][6]
