傑瑞·巴特勒

小傑瑞·巴特勒（英語：Jerry Butler, Jr.，1939年12月8日—）是美國靈魂樂創作歌手、製作人、音樂家與退休的政治人物。他因身為R&B合唱組合印象合唱團的主唱而聞名。在離開合唱團後，巴特勒的個人音樂生涯也相當成功，在流行與R&B音樂銷量/熱門排行榜上擁有55首前40名單曲。1985年起，他當選成為伊利諾州庫克郡的郡委員會成員，擔任衛生和醫院委員會主席和建築委員會副主席至2018年。

生平

巴特勒於1939年出生於密西西比州的森弗勞爾。他生活在芝加哥的卡布里尼-格林住宅區，音樂和教會為貧困的當地社區帶來慰借。年輕時的巴特勒與吉他手柯提斯·梅菲爾德先是在教堂合唱團裡相遇和一起演出，之後兩人一同加入了六人制合唱組合，即當時還是叫The Roosters的印象合唱團。合唱團的風格受山姆·库克與靈魂煽動者、密西西比五盲童、朝聖旅行者等福音合唱組合的影響，而他們也就此進入了音樂產業。

早期事業

1958年，巴特勒與亞瑟（Arthur Brooks）和理察·布魯克斯（Richard Brooks）兄弟合寫了〈For Your Precious Love〉，而他們正在尋找錄音室來錄製這首歌時引起了西洋棋唱片與維傑唱片的注意。印象合唱團在同年選擇與維傑唱片簽下合約並錄製、發行了〈For Your Precious Love〉。這首歌成為了組合第一首金唱片認證熱門歌曲，並在《滾石雜誌》的五百大歌曲榜中位居327名。然而，在1960年巴特勒決定離團展開個人音樂事業，梅菲爾德則接替他成為組合的新領導。

個人音樂事業

1970年的巴特勒

巴特勒擁有兩張最成功的專輯，分別是1968年的《The Ice Man Cometh》和1969年的《Ice on Ice》。他與來自費城的詞歌創作組合甘柏與霍夫合作，在摩城唱片與保羅·大衛·威爾森（Paul David Wilson）製作了兩張專輯：《Suite for the Single Girl》（1976年）和《It All Comes Out in My Song》（1977年）。

東尼·奧蘭多與黎明合唱團於1975年翻唱了〈He Will Break Your Heart〉，並以新名字〈He Don't Love You (Like I Love You)〉發行。此版本在《告示牌》百大單曲榜上成為冠軍單曲，比巴特勒的原版更加成功。

1980年代至今
