吉米·罗杰斯

吉米·罗杰斯（英语：Jimmie Rodgers，1897年9月8日—1933年5月26日），全名詹姆斯·查尔斯·罗杰斯（James Charles Rodgers），也被称作“会唱歌的扳道工（The Singing Brakeman）”“The Blue Yodeler”，是著名的美国乡村音乐歌手，以他的约德尔唱法闻名，被誉为“乡村音乐之父”。

一般认为，吉米·罗杰斯出生在密西西比州的莫里迪恩市，而在他在后期总把出生地写成他祖父家——阿拉巴马州的盖格市[1]。罗杰斯的父亲艾伦·罗杰斯（Aaron Rodgers）是一个铁路工人，在他大约6、7岁的时候，母亲死于肺结核，他小时候一直跟亲戚住在盖格市附近。14岁的时候，罗杰斯做了铁路工人，这让他有机会接触到许多黑人工人和他们的音乐，并可以沿着铁路在美国到处游历。

吉米·罗杰斯很早就显示出音乐的才华，但在1923年罹患肺结核，这让他身体很虚弱，无法承受铁路工人的工作，他开始用唱歌作为谋生的手段。他加入了一个美国南方的“帐篷巡回乐团”演奏班卓琴，后来他有了自己的帐篷，但是飓风卷走了帐篷。罗杰斯回到了铁路上工作，在佛罗里达州的迈阿密做制动员，但还是因为身体不好没有干长，他又去了亚利桑那州的图森做扳道工。不到一年，他和妻子凯芮、女儿阿妮塔回到了莫里迪恩。

1927年，他来到北卡罗来纳州的阿什维尔，与Otis Kuykendall一起在阿什维尔的第一家电台表演。几个月后，他加入了来自田纳西布里斯托的“特尼瓦流浪者”（Tenneva Ramblers）的乐队，组成了“吉米·罗杰斯娱乐使者”乐队（The Jimmie Rodgers Entertainers）。

1927年8月，“吉米·罗杰斯娱乐使者”乐队参加了维克多唱片公司录音，在录音的前夜。由于对录音后的收入分成没有达成一致，乐队解散了。第二天，罗杰斯独自参加了录音。录下了《The Soldier's Sweetheart》和《睡吧，宝贝》（Sleep, Baby, Sleep）。唱片发行后，《睡吧，宝贝》深受人们喜爱。11月，罗杰斯在费城又录制了四首歌。他的第二张唱片上市后，A面上的《蓝色约德尔》（Blue Yodel），也被称为《T代表德克萨斯》（T for Texas） 获得了巨大的成功，销量惊人。

不断的录音和巡演损害着罗杰斯的健康，他的结核病不断加重。1933年5月24日他录完了最后一首歌[2]，36小时后，35岁的罗杰斯因结核病去世。
