《基本演绎法》（英語：Elementary，又译：美版现代福尔摩斯、美版福尔摩斯、福尔摩斯与华生），是一部美国电视剧，于2012年9月27日起在CBS周四晚10点播出[2]，是亚瑟·柯南·道尔的夏洛克·福爾摩斯系列侦探小说的现代化改編。约翰·李·米勒饰演夏洛克·福爾摩斯、劉玉玲饰演琼安·华生。於5月29日台灣由公視頻道首播[3][4]。

在“基本演绎法”中福尔摩斯是苏格兰场（伦敦警察厅）前顾问[11]，而且福尔摩斯是一个瘾君子，他来到纽约到康复中心接受康复治疗[11]并和“戒癮伴護”琼·华生一同留在了布鲁克林区[11][12]。

和《神探夏洛克》的关系 编辑

2012年初《神探夏洛克》的制作人苏惟周表示哥伦比亚广播公司曾向《神探夏洛克》的制作公司哈斯伍德电影公司表示希望把《神探夏洛克》改编成面向美国观众的版本[13]。

据我们所知，哥伦比亚广播公司正在制作他们自己版本的现代福尔摩斯。有意思的是，之前他们曾提议翻拍我们的版本。当时他们曾保证绝不会有版权问题，因此我们衷心希望他们的版本和我们的没有任何相似之处。但假如出现版权纷争，就会变成十分棘手的情况。[13]

福尔摩斯翻拍的想法最终化为乌有[13]，但是哥伦比亚广播公司开始开发自己的现代版神探夏洛克，并使用“Elementary”一名[13]。苏惟周说哈斯伍德电影公司对哥伦比亚广播公司的这个想法感到“非常令人担忧”[14]。

另一方面，哥伦比亚广播公司声明他们的节目不会侵犯《神探夏洛克》的版权[7]。

我们剧集中的夏洛克·福尔摩斯以及琼安·华生将以亚瑟·柯南·道尔的夏洛克·福尔摩斯系列侦探小说以及公有文化背景作为基础。我们尊重版权法，并不会盗用任何仍然受到版权保护的故事或作品。[7]


英国广播公司曾威胁称要起诉哥伦比亚广播公司[15]，也许是为了应对可能的侵权指控，哥伦比亚广播公司将约翰·华生这一角色设定成为女性[16]。
