密接空中支援

密接空中支援（英文：Close Air Support，簡稱CAS）是一種由定翼機或旋翼機所進行的空中行動，屬於密接支援的一種，對抗接近友方地面或海面部隊的敵對目標。行動需要仔細整合各個部隊的火力及移動。雖稱「密接」，但進行支援的空中部隊可能與地面部隊保持一段長距離。[1]

伊拉克戰爭中，AH-64阿帕奇為巡邏位於巴格達東南的底格里斯河的美國陸軍士兵提供密接空中支援。
2015年3月12日，美軍第173空降旅503步兵團第二營B連的傘兵在斯洛文尼亞波斯托克納的波切克山脈進行近距離空中支援訓練時，所觀測到的美國空軍F-16戰隼戰鬥機。

密接空中支援需要與地面部隊有精確的協調，而在先進的現代化軍隊中則有特別人員負責，如聯合炮火觀測員（Joint Fires Observers）、前進空中管制員（Forward Air Controllers）——已於2003年改稱聯合終端攻擊管制員（Joint Terminal Attack Controllers）。
