寧姆
寧姆（英語：Nim Chimpsky；1973年－2000年3月10日）是一隻會使用美国手語的雄性黑猩猩，他的名字是來自於著名語言學家诺姆喬姆斯基。宁姆是哥伦比亚大学心理语言学家赫伯特•泰瑞斯（Herbert S. Terrace）和他的研究团队的研究中的研究对象。
宁姆计划 编辑
宁姆计划是对华秀计划的延续，他们进行了更深远的研究。泰利斯和他的同事负责教宁姆美国手语，以观察宁姆身为灵长类是否能学会人类语言。由於有華秀和可可成功學會手語的前例，泰瑞斯也希望能從寧姆的身上看到同樣的成果。
然而他從寧姆身上看到了否定的答案。泰瑞斯認為猩猩不會正确的使用手語，至少不會像人一般的使用手語，包括正确的使用语法，使用语言表达自己的需求，感情，以及状态等，而宁姆用手语所能表达的东西很有限。[1]

离开研究 编辑
在泰利斯得到“宁姆不能使用人类语言”的结论后，将宁姆送回了俄克拉荷马州的灵长类研究机构并在该机构生活了近十年。
而后该机构把宁姆卖给了另一家纽约大学的医学实验机构，Laboratory for Experimental Medicine and Surgery in Primates (LEMSIP)，该机构用灵长类动物做药物和外科安全实验[2]。
后来動物之友基金會的安排下，他被送往德州的一座農莊生活，在那裡作为唯一的灵长类度过了几年孤独的时光，后来由于LEMSIP被取缔，宁姆之前在该机构中的玩伴都得以被送往他在的农庄，后来于2000年病逝。
