- 2001年大聯盟選秀會，高汀在第34輪第1009順位為坦帕灣魔鬼魚隊選中。
- 2003年8月1日，高汀以20歲又4個月的年紀升上大聯盟。他是當年最年輕上到大聯盟的球員，也是大聯盟史上第4年輕。
- 2004年12月12日，高汀被交易到多倫多藍鳥隊。
- 2005年12月5日，高汀在藍鳥隊待了1年後，又被交易到奧克蘭運動家隊。
- 2008年球季，高汀原本是擔任先發投手，但在5月7日被調去牛棚當後援投手[1]。
- 2008年7月8日，高汀和理查·哈登一起被交易到芝加哥小熊隊。
- 2009年4月5日，高汀被小熊隊釋出[2]。
- 2009年4月12日，聖地牙哥教士隊和高汀簽下小聯盟合約[3]。
- 2009年8月6日，紐約洋基隊和聖地牙哥教士隊達成協議，洋基隊以10萬美金和稍後指定的球員和教士隊交易高汀[4][5]。
- 2010年3月25日，高汀被洋基隊釋出。
- 2010年3月28日，高汀和奧克蘭運動家隊簽下大聯盟合約。5月17日，他被運動家隊指定派遣；5月21日遭到釋出[6]。
- 2010年5月26日，高汀再度被紐約洋基重新簽回隊上擔任中繼投手[7]。
- 2010年12月17日，高汀和華盛頓國民隊簽下小聯盟合約，並入選國民的25人名單中[8]。
- 2012年1月4日，邁阿密馬林魚隊和高汀簽下小聯盟合約，開季順利進入25人名單中。
- 2012年12月3日，高汀和舊金山巨人隊簽下小聯盟合約[9]。隔年3月26日，他再從巨人隊3A被叫上大聯盟[10]。
- 2014年1月21日，費城費城人隊和高汀簽下小聯盟合約[11]。同年2月13日，他因為健康因素遭到球隊釋出[12]。
- 2015年2月25日，高汀和洛杉磯道奇隊簽下小聯盟合約[13][14]。但春訓期間，他又因為健康因素無法上場[15]；在接受腕隧道手術後，整整休養了1年[16]。
- 2016年4月1日，高汀開始在墨西哥棒球聯盟打球。
