西非长颈鹿


西非长颈鹿[2]（學名：Giraffa camelopardalis peralta）是长颈鹿的一个亚种，其毛色偏浅，分布于西非的萨赫勒地区。

19世纪时西非长颈鹿从塞内加尔遍布到乍得湖[3]，但到了2011年时只剩下400头分布在几处相互隔离的地区。[4]截至2016年，西非长颈鹿野外个体只剩下220头，是世界上数量最稀少的长颈鹿。[5]

人工繁育的“西非长颈鹿”现已证实均为科尔多凡长颈鹿（G. c. antiquorum）。[3]
