重子声学振荡Baryon Acoustic Oscillations, BAO)是宇宙中可见的重子物质的规则周期性密度涨落。正如超新星可以作为标准烛光[1] 重子声学振荡的物质成团性也可以作为测量宇宙学距离标准尺[2] 这个标准尺的长度(目前约4.9亿光年[3])可以通过大尺度结构巡天来测量。[3] 通过对重子声学振荡的测量,我们可以更多地限制宇宙学参数,从而了解导致宇宙加速膨胀的暗能量的性质。[2]
