肉鳍鱼的一属

原鰭魚屬〔學名：Protopterus，來自古希腊文“πρωτο- ”（拉丁轉寫：prōto-；意為“第一個”，引申指原始）＋“πτερόν”（pterón；翅膀，魚鰭）〕，通稱非洲肺魚屬，是原鰭魚科（Protopteridae，通稱非洲肺魚科）之下唯一的属，也有學者將其歸入美洲肺鱼科（Lepidosirenidae），與美洲肺魚屬（Lepidosiren）成為姐妹群[1][4]，原鰭魚科則隨之成為美洲肺鱼科的異名。

原鰭魚屬現存四種長條狀的肺魚，即西非肺鱼（原鰭魚）、东非肺鱼、石花肺鱼和长肺鱼，均產自非洲熱帶地區的淡水生境，捕食甲殼動物、水生昆虫的幼蟲和软体动物等[5]，形態及生活習性都與美洲肺鱼相似。

形態特征编辑

非洲肺魚身形細長似鰻魚，具有6個鳃弓與5個鰓裂[23]。鱗片柔軟，胸鰭和腹鰭呈細條狀，背鰭與尾鰭融為一體。牠們既能像鳗鱼一般在水中游動，也能以胸鰭和腹鰭在水底爬行[5]。

生活習性编辑

非洲肺魚在雨季開始時進入繁殖期，會在水底的泥中築巢或挖洞，將卵產於其中，避免被其他動物取食。剛孵化出的幼魚類似蝌蚪，生有外鰓，隨著進一步的發育而長出一對鰾取代外鰓呼吸[5]。

當河水干涸時，非洲肺魚會在泥洞中夏蟄（一種代謝率降低的休眠狀態，類似冬眠），同時體表分泌出粘液形成一層繭狀物，將自身包裹在內度過旱季[23]。通过這種方式，牠們能在乾燥河床硬化的泥洞中生存數月之久[5]。
