本樹狀模板可以用在創建一個適合的結構與可以處理的樹狀圖，每個元素都會有一條線。這個模板可以顯示家族樹、後代與前代等，其組成模板包含：

獨立的階層必須在前面標星號。

The outermost level of the tree is denoted by start and finish markers, using the templates {{Tree list}} and {{Tree list/end}}respectively. The tree is essentially a series of nested lists built with the asterisks ("*") between these two markers.

It will be noticed that the example above has a rouge link below the last entry. In order to display the final branches properly, it is necessary to use the template {{Tree list/final branch}} thus:
