红头金刚鹦鹉
红头金刚鹦鹉（学名：Ara erythrocephala，英语：Red-headed macaw、Jamaican Green-and-yellow Macaw）是一种已灭绝的鹦鹉。[1]这种鸟类被归类于鹦形目金刚鹦鹉科金刚鹦鹉属下，但因这种鹦鹉仅存在于一次纸质纪录中，之后也没有任何实质纪录而对其存在与否有所争议。[1][2]

这个物种的首个描述来自英国博物学家菲利普·亨利·戈斯于其1847年的著作《牙麦加的鸟类》（The birds of Jamaica）中，但他当时误以为是有在墨西哥分布的军舰金刚鹦鹉。[3]1905年，第二代罗斯柴尔德男爵沃尔特·罗斯柴尔德将其重新命名为Ara erythrocephala。[1]其存在仅基于牙买加律师理查德·希尔寄给戈斯的一封信。[4]
其属名Ara是来自图皮语中，一个形容金刚鹦鹉的拟声词Ará，该词所形成的的合成词Arára用以指称鹦鹉。[5]:52其种小名erythrocephala为希腊语，由eruthros（意为“红色”）及-kephalos（意为“头部的”）组合而成。[5]:149
但是此命名有所争议，德国博物学家约翰·弗里德里希·格梅林在更早之前可能就已使用Anadorhynchus caerulens此一名称描述。[6]
物种描述 编辑
它的头呈红色。余下的身体是一种鲜艳的绿色。翅膀和较大的覆羽为蓝色。尾部呈红色和蓝色。而尾巴和翅膀的下面是浓烈的橙黄色。
希尔同时描述其分布范围约略在牙麦加圣安娜区跟特里洛尼区山上的森林中，被牛津庄园的拥有者安德鲁·怀特（Andrew White）所拥有。[1]其余习性则不明。[8]
这种鸟类被认为与数种已灭绝的西印度群岛鹦鹉有较近的血缘关系，包含古巴红鹦鹉、多米尼克绿黄金刚鹦鹉、马提尼克金刚鹦鹉、牙买加红鹦鹉、小安的列斯金刚鹦鹉及所谓的“红尾蓝黄金刚鹦鹉”（Red-tailed blue-and-yellow macaw）。[8]
物种现状与存在可能 编辑
因为这种鸟类的纪录仅存在于戈斯的纪录中，没有任何皮肤、骨骼或任何考古遗迹的记录，因此被认为是一种假设的已灭绝鹦鹉。[2]也因此被认为是“接近都市传说的鸟类”。[8]而那些目击的个体比较有可能是跟军舰金刚鹦鹉或古巴红鹦鹉混淆。[9]
若此鹦鹉真的存在，那也已灭绝，其原因推测为十九世纪早期的过度猎杀。[6][8]1967年曾有可靠程度不明的目击报告。[10]
