生平 編輯
1961年，坎寧安出生於愛爾蘭都柏林，他有3個姐姐和一個哥哥，全家人都信奉羅馬天主教。[1][2] 坎寧安早年沒讀完高中就輟學了，那時候他只有15歲，他做了一名電工，1980年代，他搬遷到津巴布韋共和國。[1] 坎寧安回到愛爾蘭之後，對電工這份工作不滿意，轉行當了一個演員。[1] 坎寧安在愛爾蘭的劇院學習戲劇表演，隨着日益磨礪，慢慢地有了名聲。[1]
