威爾弗雷德·馬德隆

威爾弗雷德·費迪南德·馬德隆（德語：Wilferd Ferdinand Madelung，1930年12月26日—2023年5月9日[1] ），是位德裔美籍伊斯蘭史學者。

生平 編輯

1930年12月26日，馬德隆出生於斯圖加特，他的父親格奧爾格·漢斯·馬德隆（英語：Georg Hans Madelung）是納粹時期的著名德國飛機設計師[2]。二戰之後，他隨家人移民美國，先就讀於喬治城大學，1951年前往埃及，就讀開羅大學，1953年獲得阿拉伯語文、伊斯蘭史學士學位，1958年在漢堡大學獲得博士學位，博士論文主題為法蒂瑪王朝史與伊斯瑪儀派[2]。1964年，他在芝加哥大學任助理教授，1969年成為教授。1978年，他任牛津大學聖約翰學院研究員、勞德里安阿拉伯語教授（英語：Laudian Professor of Arabic），直至1998年退休[2]。之後他加入伊斯瑪儀研究所（英語：Institute of Ismaili Studies），任高級研究員，並於1999年成為英國國家學術院成員[3]，2003年，伊斯瑪儀研究所為他出版了紀念論文集[2]，2011、2018年曾參與普林斯頓高等研究院工作[4]。他的研究範圍相當廣泛，包括伊斯蘭教早期歷史、什葉派（十二伊瑪目派）、伊斯瑪儀派、伊巴德派等伊斯蘭教派[5]。他還參與了《伊斯蘭百科全書》與《伊朗百科全書》的編撰工作，擔任幾本學術期刊的編輯[6]。
