西亞美尼亞語
西亞美尼亞語（古典亞美尼亞正字法：արեւմտահայերէն，轉寫：arevmdahayerēn）[2]屬於印歐語系，是亞美尼亞語的兩種標準語之一，另一種是東亞美尼亞語。西亞美尼亞語主要基於伊斯坦布爾方言，而東亞美尼亞語則主要基於埃里溫方言。

直到20世紀初，奧斯曼帝國境內依舊有人使用西亞美尼亞語，特別是西亞美尼亞地區。當時大部分亞美尼亞裔土耳其人將西亞美尼亞語作為主要使用的語言。西亞美尼亞語隨著亞美尼亞種族大屠殺而導致使用人口大為縮減。而逃到亞美尼亞的亞美尼亞裔土耳其人則使用東亞美尼亞語。而目前赫姆辛人、[3]敘利亞拉塔基亞、吉斯爾舒古爾和凱薩布、黎巴嫩安傑爾和土耳其Vakıflı, Samandağ等地方和民族依舊在使用西亞美尼亞語。
亞美尼亞北部久姆里、Akhuryan、Artik和希拉克省的130個村莊[4]以及格魯吉亞的阿哈爾卡拉基和阿哈爾齊赫也有數十萬人口使用西亞美尼亞語。[5]
在土耳其，只有一小部分亞美尼亞裔土耳其人將西亞美尼亞語作為第一語言。[6]
由於亞美尼亞大屠殺以及其他歷史原因，西亞美尼亞語目前主要是一種散居語言，也沒有國家將其列為官方語言，因此西亞美尼亞語使用者面臨著被東道國主要語言同化的壓力並面臨瀕危狀態。據估計，亞美尼亞和格魯吉亞以外的能流利使用西亞美尼亞語的人數不到一百萬。
2009年2月21日，當天是國際母語日，聯合國教科文組織出版了新版《世界瀕危語言地圖集》，其中土耳其的西亞美尼亞語被定義為瀕危語言。[7][8]
