烏魯伯格
烏魯伯格（波斯語：الغبیگ，Uluġ Beg，1394年3月22日—1449年10月27日）一作兀魯伯[1]，幼名「穆罕默德·塔剌海」。是帖木兒帝國的蘇丹，也是一位天文學家。他是帖木兒的孫子，沙哈魯的長子。

生平 編輯
1409年起為帖木兒帝國撒馬爾罕地區的統治者。1420年在撒馬爾罕建造天文台，天文台中擁有當時世界上最大的象限儀。經過近30年觀測，於1447年編製成《新古拉干曆數書》（即《烏魯伯格天文表》）。該書包括太陽與行星的運動表和1018顆恆星位置表，是托勒密之後第一個獨立星表，達到了16世紀以前的最高水平。[2][3]烏魯伯格還對數學和占星術等有研究。
1447年其父沙哈魯駕崩後，烏魯伯格繼位。相傳他根據占星預言，得知自己將被兒子殺死，於是就將其長子阿不都·剌迪甫（'Abd al-Latif）放逐並計劃立次子阿不都·阿齊茲為嗣。[4]不料最後阿不都·剌迪甫在巴里黑反叛，囚禁了烏魯伯格，並於1449年10月27日前往麥加途中派人處死了他。[5]
榮譽 編輯
1830年德國天文學家約翰·海因里希·馮·梅德勒以其名字命名了月球風暴洋西部的一座環形山。
