天蛾科

鳞翅目昆虫的一科

天蛾科（学名：Sphingidae）是鳞翅目的一科，科名取自希腊语“Sphinx”，即希腊神话中的怪物“斯芬克斯”。 天蛾科下辖200多个属，约1,450个品种[2]。本科物种大多数于热带生活，但其每一个地区都有其踪影[3]。本科昆虫主要特征是前翅狭长，后翅呈短三角形，复眼大，胸部粗壮，腹部末端尖及呈流线型，触角端部细而弯曲[1]。体型中等到大，所以可作快速及持续的飞行[3]，最快可达每小时40到50公里[4][5]。

在1903年，Rothschild and Jordan最先为天蛾科物种作科学化的分类，以物种有没有感毛（microtrichia），把整个科分为感毛组与无感毛组两大组，下设五亚科七大族[4]，分别如下：

现时分类 编辑

现时的分类把原来的无感毛组一分为二，成为了天蛾亚科和目天蛾亚科；而原来的感毛组成为现在的长喙天蛾亚科[4][8]。
