理查·特里维西克
康沃爾發明家，工程師和蒸汽機車製造商
理查·特里维西克（英语：Richard Trevithick，1771年4月13日—1833年4月22日）是一名英国发明家和矿业工程师。特里维西克是一位采矿队长的儿子，出生在康沃尔郡的采矿中心地带，从小就沉浸在矿业和工程中。他是蒸汽动力公路和铁路运输的早期先驱，他最重要的贡献是开发了第一台高压蒸汽机和第一个工作的铁路蒸汽机车[1]。世界上首次机车牵引的铁路旅行发生在1804年2月21日，当时特里维西克的无名蒸汽机车牵引著一列火车沿着威尔士梅瑟蒂德菲尔的佩尼达伦钢铁厂的电车道行驶[2][3]。
