托馬斯·德曼
托馬斯·德曼（德語：Thomas Demand；1964年—），德國雕塑家、觀念攝影家。目前主要在柏林與洛杉磯生活及從事創作，並任教於德國漢堡美術學院。

德曼早期為一位雕塑家，一開始相機只是他拿來拍攝雕塑作品的紀錄。後來，經過拍攝的照片變成他用來代表「作品」的管道。現在其最著名的風格，即是利用紙張拼貼的方式構成一個三維立體的逼真寫實的場景。
他曾多次舉辦個展，曾在現代藝術美術館、泰特現代藝術館、東京都現代美術館、德國新國立美術館、巴西聖保羅雙年展等國際當代藝術展覽會中亮相，使他成為享譽國際的當代藝術家之一。

托馬斯·德曼於1964年出生於德國慕尼黑，雙親皆為美術老師。德曼於1987年至1989年間就讀於慕尼黑的維也納藝術學院。1989年到1992年，他在杜塞道夫藝術學院和弗里茨·施韋格勒（Fritz Schwegler）學習雕塑。由於作品難以運送，他開始使用攝影技術來記錄自己的紙製雕塑。他於1992年移居巴黎一年，隨後移居倫敦就讀於倫敦大學金匠學院，並於1994年獲得文學碩士學位。隨後，他在紐約待了一段時間，接著搬到了他現在居住和工作的柏林。1991年，德曼在Galerie Guy Ledune舉辦了他的第一次個展。
在私人畫廊舉辦了無數展覽後，德曼於1997年在美術館空間舉辦了數次個展，包括1998年在蘇黎世美術館（Kunsthalle Zürich）和比勒菲爾德美術館（Kunsthalle Bielefeld）的展出。1999年，他在倫敦泰特現代美術館（Tate Gallery）展出了他的第一部電影《隧道》(Tunnel)，這是《今日藝術系列》(Art Now series )的一部分。2000年，他在巴黎的卡地亞當代藝術基金會展出，次年，他的作品在漢諾威的史賓格博物館、美國聖安東尼奧的Artpace、荷蘭阿姆斯特丹的De Appel；美國科羅拉多州的阿斯彭藝術博物館、和美國新墨西哥的SITE Santa Fe。自1994年以來，德曼的作品得到了廣泛的認可，並參加了許多團體展覽。包含雪梨雙年展、卡內基國際藝術展（Carnegie International）等。
藝術創作 编辑
德曼的作品包含社會及政治意涵，因此他不自稱攝影家，而是觀念藝術家，攝影是他創作過程中不可或缺的一部份。
他最著名的創作類型主要是從建築空間的照片出發，照片多取材於歷史或社會事件，引用各大媒體的照片與影片。隨後在工作室裡用泡沫塑料及紙板製作出該場景的簡單模型。最後將重建的場景拍攝下來，待拍攝完成後，便銷毀模型。
這樣的創作方式探討了「原創」的概念。通過重製模型，去除了原始物體表面的細節，只著重於形體，透過模型展示對現實形象的暗示。圖像和影像一向被視為是一種傳遞真相的手段，然而當透過媒體報導或是網際網路等仲介擴散到世界各地時，圖像和影像反而化為真相本身，遭到攝下的畫面所支配，是他意圖傳達給觀者的啟示。
