托马斯·德曼
托马斯·德曼（德语：Thomas Demand；1964年—），德国雕塑家、观念摄影家。目前主要在柏林与洛杉矶生活及从事创作，并任教于德国汉堡美术学院。

德曼早期为一位雕塑家，一开始相机只是他拿来拍摄雕塑作品的纪录。后来，经过拍摄的照片变成他用来代表“作品”的管道。现在其最著名的风格，即是利用纸张拼贴的方式构成一个三维立体的逼真写实的场景。
他曾多次举办个展，曾在现代艺术美术馆、泰特现代艺术馆、东京都现代美术馆、德国新国立美术馆、巴西圣保罗双年展等国际当代艺术展览会中亮相，使他成为享誉国际的当代艺术家之一。

托马斯·德曼于1964年出生于德国慕尼黑，双亲皆为美术老师。德曼于1987年至1989年间就读于慕尼黑的维也纳艺术学院。1989年到1992年，他在杜塞尔多夫艺术学院和弗里茨·施韦格勒（Fritz Schwegler）学习雕塑。由于作品难以运送，他开始使用摄影技术来记录自己的纸制雕塑。他于1992年移居巴黎一年，随后移居伦敦就读于伦敦大学金匠学院，并于1994年获得文学硕士学位。随后，他在纽约待了一段时间，接着搬到了他现在居住和工作的柏林。1991年，德曼在Galerie Guy Ledune举办了他的第一次个展。
在私人画廊举办了无数展览后，德曼于1997年在美术馆空间举办了数次个展，包括1998年在苏黎世美术馆（Kunsthalle Zürich）和比勒菲尔德美术馆（Kunsthalle Bielefeld）的展出。1999年，他在伦敦泰特现代美术馆（Tate Gallery）展出了他的第一部电影《隧道》(Tunnel)，这是《今日艺术系列》(Art Now series )的一部分。2000年，他在巴黎的卡地亚当代艺术基金会展出，次年，他的作品在汉诺威的史宾格博物馆、美国圣安东尼奥的Artpace、荷兰阿姆斯特丹的De Appel；美国科罗拉多州的阿斯彭艺术博物馆、和美国新墨西哥的SITE Santa Fe。自1994年以来，德曼的作品得到了广泛的认可，并参加了许多团体展览。包含雪梨双年展、卡内基国际艺术展（Carnegie International）等。
艺术创作 编辑
德曼的作品包含社会及政治意涵，因此他不自称摄影家，而是观念艺术家，摄影是他创作过程中不可或缺的一部分。
他最著名的创作类型主要是从建筑空间的照片出发，照片多取材于历史或社会事件，引用各大媒体的照片与影片。随后在工作室里用泡沫塑料及纸板制作出该场景的简单模型。最后将重建的场景拍摄下来，待拍摄完成后，便销毁模型。
这样的创作方式探讨了“原创”的概念。通过重制模型，去除了原始物体表面的细节，只着重于形体，透过模型展示对现实形象的暗示。图像和影像一向被视为是一种传递真相的手段，然而当透过媒体报导或是互联网等中介扩散到世界各地时，图像和影像反而化为真相本身，遭到摄下的画面所支配，是他意图传达给观者的启示。
