英皇爱德华酒店
英皇爱德华奥姆尼酒店（英语：Omni King Edward Hotel）是加拿大安大略省多伦多市中心一家历史悠久的豪华酒店[1]，地址为皇帝东街37号，占据整个街区，北接皇帝东街，东接维多利亚街（Victoria Street），南接高邦街（Colborne Street），西接统领里（Leader Lane）。

历史
编辑英皇爱德华酒店由芝加哥建筑师Henry Ives Cobb与多伦多建筑师E.J. Lennox为地产商佐治·古德汉（George Gooderham）的多伦多酒店公司设计，并由以英皇爱德华七世命名[2]。该建筑于1903年开放，拥有400间客房和300间浴室，宣称为完全防火[3]。
1922 年，在原八层结构的东面增加了一座18层的塔楼，内有530个房间。塔楼的两个顶层是水晶宴会厅，直到1950年代后期，它还是这座城市最时尚的地方。由于更严格的防火规范，该房间在1950年代后期关闭，并且在1979至1981年的装修期间没有恢复[4]。当奥姆尼酒店（Omni Hotels）于2013年投资该酒店时，修复宴会厅是其宣布的目标之一[5]。宴会厅在关闭38年后于2017年4月重新开放[6]。
多年来，这家酒店为多位业主拥有。大都会人寿保险在1933年取消抵押贷款时成为所有者。1941年至1950年间，酒店在C. A. Ripley和Vernon Cardy之间经过。卡迪连锁酒店还拥有满地可的皇家山酒店（Mount Royal Hotel）、安大略省咸美顿的皇家干诺酒店（Royal Connaught Hotel）、尼亚加拉瀑布城的布洛克将军酒店（General Brock Hotel）、安大略省温莎的爱德华王子酒店（Prince Edward Hotel）和魁北克省圣阿代尔（Sainte-Adèle）的阿尔卑斯酒店（Alpine Inn）。1950年，喜来登购买了卡迪的酒店，由此接管了该物业，并将其重新命名为英皇爱德华喜来登酒店（The King Edward Sheraton）[7]。

喜达屋于2005年从雷曼兄弟手中收购了该品牌，酒店名称删去“皇家”（Royal），更名为“英皇爱德华艾美酒店”（Le Méridien King Edward）[10]。2009年，一个财团购买了这座建筑，但仍由艾美酒店经营。新业主宣布进行重大修复，包括在三楼至五楼建造140套公寓，这些公寓已多年未使用。2012年，业主之一的Skyline Hotels & Resorts从艾美酒店接手管理家及营销工作，酒店更名为“英皇爱德华酒店”（The King Edward Hotel）[11]。
奥姆尼酒店（Omni Hotels）于2013年8月1日成为酒店管理层，当时酒店更名为“英皇爱德华奥姆尼酒店”（The Omni King Edward Hotel）[12]。在管理酒店两年后，奥姆尼酒店于2015年11月24日直接将其收购[13]。
住客
编辑曾入住该酒店的著名政要及名人包括马克·吐温、华伦天奴、路易斯·岩士唐、艾维斯·皮礼士利、撒切尔夫人、布兰妮·斯皮雅斯及欧内斯特·海明威[14]。披头士乐队于1964年首次访问多伦多时入住酒店的皇家套房，并引发了酒店迄今为止最大的骚动，当时3,000名歌迷挤满了街道并淹没了大堂。1969年，约翰·连侬和小野洋子在他们“为和平而卧床”前一天住在同一间皇家套房。1964年2月，当伊利沙伯·泰莱和李察·波顿住在一间套房时，“道德纠察队” 发现当时他们尚未结婚，引发了一场丑闻[15]。
在电影中
编辑英皇爱德华酒店不仅有电影明星，还有电影布景，从里安纳·哥汉1983年的音乐剧《我是一家酒店》（I am a Hotel），到占美·霍士的情节剧电影《诱饵》（Bait）（这部电影在一次特技事故中引发了爆炸，震动整座建筑，震碎了窗户）。
