郭劲宏
郭劲宏（英语：George Ching-Hung Kuo），台湾裔病毒学家，1989年与迈克尔·霍顿、朱桂霖和丹尼尔·布拉德利共同发现并成功培养了丙型肝炎病毒[1][2]。

发现丙型肝炎 编辑
在1970年代，医学界发现甲型肝炎和乙型肝炎之外，还有一种病原体不明的肝炎尚未厘清。因此开荣公司的迈克尔·霍顿团队着手进行“非AB型性肝炎”（Non-A-Non-B (NANB)-Hepatitis）的研究，而郭劲宏也参与其中。在多年努力后，团队于1989年从患有NAN乙肝炎的黑猩猩血浆中，发现了一小段病毒核酸，并被证实是前所未知的病毒，也就是后来所熟知的丙型肝炎病毒[3][4]。
丙型肝炎病毒发现后，很快就成功发展出血液中病毒的检测方法。此后血品中带有病毒的比例从1/3降到两万分之一，大幅提高了输血安全[5][6]。据估计，目前使用的抗体检测法，每年在美国就至少避免40000人受到感染[7]。
郭劲宏于1961年毕业于国立台湾大学医技系，并于1972年自阿尔伯特·爱因斯坦医学院取得博士学位[8]。

郭劲宏与同事Carol Lan-Fang Kuo结婚，女儿Irene Carol Kuo是美国约翰霍普金斯大学威尔默眼科研究所的眼科副教授[9]。女婿Carson Chia-sen Chow博士任职于美国国家卫生研究院的国家糖尿病与消化和肾脏疾病研究所（NIDDK）[10]。
