滑刃科的一属线虫
伞滑刃属（属名：Bursaphelenchus）是寄生滑刃科线虫的一个属线虫。本属物种的食性基本上都以真菌为食，但有两个物种以木为食，分别为Bursaphelenchus cocophilus和Bursaphelenchus xylophilus，分别是椰树和松树的重要寄生虫。本属物种的分类，除非有受过训练的蠕虫学家辅以显微镜或DNA排序 分析，否则要辨别并不容易。因此部分国家会将本属所有物种均列入要隔离的类别。然而如果情况并非如此，这些线虫其实很适合作为线虫的发育生物学、生态学和遗传学的模式生物[3]。

本属物种包括有一个雌雄同体的物种，即okinawaensis；另外还有过百个雌雄异体的物种[4]。他们栖息于土壤或腐烂的木材中，以木材本身为食或在其中生长的真菌菌丝，例如：灰葡萄孢菌（Botrytis cinerea）。这些行为有时对木林有益，因为可当减少木林内的真菌负荷；然而当它们开始消耗木林的植物组织时，那表示已有机会令木林死亡[3]。
这些携播性的线虫，在休眠幼虫阶段时被昆虫在树林间散布。所涉及的昆虫物种包括有：树皮甲虫（黄瓜甲虫）、象鼻虫、扁平长角甲虫（Monochamus）等沟胫天牛亚科（Lamiinae）甲虫物种。休眠幼虫的形成过程尚不清楚，但它具有研究意义，因为它对这些线虫如松树萎缩引起的植物病害的流行具有重要意义[3]。
