羅伯特·傑特曼
羅伯特·克利福德·傑特曼（Robert Clifford Gentleman，1959年—）是一名加拿大統計學家、生物信息學家。[5] 截止至2015年，傑特曼擔任23andMe主管計算生物學的副總裁。[6][7]傑特曼與羅斯·伊哈卡是R語言的最初作者[8][9] ，傑特曼還是Bioconductor計劃的創始人之一。[10][11][12]

傑特曼在不列顛哥倫比亞大學獲得主修數學的理學士學位[6]他於1988年獲得華盛頓大學統計學博士學位；其答辯論文標題為《Exploratory methods for censored data》。[13]

二十世紀九十年代中期傑特曼在奧克蘭大學統計系任教授。在此期間傑特曼與羅斯·伊哈卡開發了R語言。[8][14]2001年傑特曼發起了Bioconductor計劃，旨在促進開發計算生物學與生物信息學的開源工具。2009年傑特曼開始在Genentech擔任主管生物信息學與計算生物學的資深主管。[15][16]2015年4月傑特曼在生物技術公司23andMe擔任副總裁，[6] 旨在向該公司提供其在生物信息學與計算藥物開發上的特長。[7]傑特曼還在統計軟件公司Revolution Analytics擔任董事。[14]

傑特曼於2008年獲得本傑明·富蘭克林獎以表彰其對R語言和Bioconductor的貢獻及其對數據和方法分享的責任感。[17] 國際計算生物學會2014年接納傑特曼為會員，以表彰其對計算生物學和生物信息學的貢獻。[18]
