美國中華醫學基金會

美國中華醫學基金會[2]（英語：China Medical Board, Inc.，縮寫CMB），又譯中華醫學基金會[3]，成立於1914年，是美國的一家非盈利機構，主要資助中國及東南亞醫科大學的健康教育與醫學研究（英語：medical research）。其使命為「改善中國及東南亞的健康、平等及醫療質量」。[4]

歷史 編輯

基金會成立於1914年，是洛克菲勒基金會推動的第二個大型項目。在洛克菲勒基金會大力支持下，基金會在1928年成為了獨立私營機構，並在1914年至1951年間致力於建設協和醫學院，計劃實現協和的財政、運營、產權方面的自主，協和在1950年終於達成了計劃中不依賴外國人運作的目標。1951年基金會在華活動因政治原因暫停，轉為支持東亞和東南亞的醫學事業，直到1980年才重返中國並在中國經營至今。中華醫學基金會合計資助了亞洲17國118所醫學院，其中有28所位於中國境內。此外，基金會還投入10億至50億美元支持亞洲的公共醫療發展。現任基金會主席是陳致和博士（Dr. Lincoln Chen），現有項目資助總金額已經超過3億美元。[5][6]

如今，中華醫學基金會關注醫療政策、醫療系統改革、職業醫療制度改革，與中國內地及東南亞泰國、越南、老撾、緬甸等國的醫學院校開展合作。[7]
