此專輯為米高·傑克遜的生前遺作。 在2010年11月12日，遺產公司正式宣佈該專輯收錄了10首歌曲。[1] 「Breaking News（突發新聞）」是專輯中第一首被發佈給公眾的歌曲。（以電台形式發佈）索尼公司介紹說，這些歌曲於2007年在新澤西的「卡西歐家庭工作室」開始製作，直到專輯發佈前夕才製作完成。[1]在米高去世的前幾年，米高於許多明星合作過歌曲，如專輯的第一支正式單曲「Hold My Hand」就是米高與阿肯就在2008年於拉斯維加斯進行二重唱的成果。[2]
