欧洲野苹果是一种大型灌木或小乔木，寿命在八十至一百年间，高度可达10米（33英尺），树干直径可达23—45厘米（9.1—17.7英寸）。它对光线要求比较高，因此一般只见于丛林边缘地带。欧洲野苹果并不常见，但遍布欧洲各国。[1]
