扁尾海蛇属
眼镜蛇科的一属爬行动物
扁尾海蛇属（学名：Laticauda）是蛇亚目下的一个有毒蛇属，亦是众多海蛇中对海洋需求度最低的蛇类。此属蛇类有宽阔的腹鳞，可以活动于陆地上，相反其尾鳍结构发展不足，令它在水中的活跃程度不及一般海蛇。因此扁尾海蛇多生活于浅滩区域甚至近海陆地之上。

扁尾海蛇分布于亚洲中国南部至澳洲北部一带海域的岛屿，多在沿岸地区出没。[1]
进食习惯 编辑
扁尾海蛇以海洋生物为食，尤以海鳗及康吉鳗为主。一些扁尾海蛇亦会捕食墨鱼、蟹类及鱼类。目前为止尚未发现扁尾海蛇有进食陆上生物的情况。
行为 编辑
扁尾海蛇多于夜间出没，虽然它们拥有强烈的毒液，但性格却一般温驯。在新喀里多尼亚，扁尾海蛇被称为“tricot rayé”，更以性情近人著称，当地小孩都会弄其为乐。不过尽管扁尾海蛇的咬击并不普遍，但遭其咬伤后仍需严谨处理，并作即时治疗。[2]
繁殖 编辑
扁尾海蛇属卵生蛇类，每当需要进行交配时，它们会回归陆地。雄性扁尾海蛇会以抽动身体的姿态来向雌蛇示爱。
