沙燕属（学名：Riparia）是雀形目燕科下的一个属。[2]本属物种除崖沙燕几乎分布于全世界（除南极大陆）之外，其他物种均为旧大陆之物种，目前下属6个物种。[2]

命名历史 编辑
本属物种为英国自然学家托马斯·伊格内修斯·玛丽亚·福斯特于1817年描述。[3]其模式种由单型及重名的关系指定为Riparia europaea，现今为崖沙燕之异名。[1]其属名Riparia来自于崖沙燕的种加词riparia，该词来自拉丁语的riparius，意指“在岸边筑巢的”。[4]
