阿佛列·愛德嘉·柯伯德（英語：Alfred Edgar Coppard，1878年1月4日—1957年1月13日）是一位英國作家、詩人。

生平 编辑

阿佛列·愛德嘉·柯伯德出生於福克斯通（Folkestone），雙親是裁縫和女傭。柯伯德在貧困的情況下長大，後來將他的童年描述為“驚人的貧窮”，而弗兰克·奥康纳（Frank O'Connor）將柯伯德的童年描繪成“殘酷”[1]。

在1920年代初，他認識理查德·休斯（Richard Hughes）[2]和埃德蓋爾·里克斯（Edgell Rickword）等人。

阿佛列·愛德嘉·柯伯德是獨立工黨的成員，小說受到托馬斯·哈代的影響，最初的作品比貝茨（Herbert Ernest Bates）更受歡迎[3]。
