2023年欧洲小国运动会

2023年欧洲小国运动会（2023 Games of the Small States of Europe），又称为第19届歐洲小國運動會，于2023年5月28日-6月3日在马耳他首都瓦莱塔举行。[3]

马耳他此前曾举办过1993年和2003年的小国运动会。[1]2023年的按照原计划是第20届运动会，而不是第19届运动会，[4][5]但由于2019冠状病毒病疫情，2021年在安道尔举行的运动会被取消了。[6]

申办和准备

2017年2月，馬耳他奧林匹克委員會（MOC）主席朱利安·佩斯·博内洛（Julian Pace Bonello）宣布，马耳他将申办2023年欧洲小国运动会[7]。

2021年6月，在安道尔举办的欧洲小国运动会被取消后，安道尔奥林匹克运动会主席马尔蒂·曼丁科（Marti Mandinco）将主办权一职交给了博内洛[8]。

2022年2月，马耳他奥委会正式启动运动会的运作，博内洛说他希望这项活动能「让国家感到自豪」，并「成为激励年轻运动员的催化剂」。[1]马耳他于2022年6月主办了欧洲小国运动会大会，批准了运动会的最终比赛项目。[9]马耳他政府承诺通过马耳他体育局提供价值500万欧元的资金用来支持运动会和马耳他运动员。[10]

会徽和吉祥物

2021年12月，马耳他奥委会和马耳他教育部的体育教育与运动中心（Ministry for Education's Centre for Physical Education and Sport）发起了一场关于运动会标志和吉祥物的设计竞赛，这项竞赛向10至18岁的儿童开放。[2]组委会将从提交的作品中汲取灵感，会徽由Concept Stadium设计，并于2022年6月由马耳他教育、体育、青年、研究和创新部长克利夫顿·格里马（英语：Clifton Grima）揭幕。[11][12]据说会徽「将著名的奥运五环与大海、鱼和许多人认可的马耳他标志——眼睛符号融会贯通」。[13][12]眼睛的符号出现在马耳他文化的几个不同部分，如防止邪恶之眼的符咒Luzzu（英语：Luzzu）（一种传统的马耳他渔船）或作为精神身份的标志，或在'Il-Gardjola'（森格萊阿一座独特的瞭望塔）上代表了监护和遵守的理念。[14]会徽的重叠颜色代表「马耳他的多样性和包容性价值」。[12]
