English: On a small hill in the northeast region of Awaji Island, the Water Temple is a building which overlooks Osaka Bay. Underneath an oval architecture with a lotus pond as roof, the vermillion-colored main hall stands brilliantly. Visitors approach the building through a central staircase toward the temple under the water pond. It is a design which inherits the Japanses spirit without being held back by the conventions of architectural tradition regarding shape and style.
