English: A U.S. Naval Reserve Grumman A-6E Intruder (BuNo 149956) from attack squadron VA-304 Firebirds from Naval Air Station Alameda, California (USA), in position on catapult no. 2, ready to launch off the deck of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN-68) on 1 August 1992. The Reserve Carrier Air Wing 30 (CVWR-30) squadron was embarked aboard the Nimitz for a two-week annual training period. After its retirement the Intruder 149956 was sunk as an artificial reef. |
