Some planespotting for the very first weekend of 2013 - in anticipation of seeing the new United 787 services to/from Tokyo. (And I was far from alone - plenty of hardcore planespotters, all of male middle-aged persuasion except for yours truly.)

American 169 departs for Tokyo Narita. This will be the first of four flights departing for Tokyo Narita within the next half hour or so; the others will be All Nippon 5, Japan Air 61, and United 32. Additionally yet another Tokyo Narita-bound flight, Korean Air 2, had left an hour or so earlier. The route is also served daily by Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines (A380), and Delta Air Lines, with ANA and Delta also offering service to Tokyo Haneda.
