威尔森生于澳大利亚新南威尔士州悉尼市[2]。父母是职业训犬员，威尔森的名字来自一位在两人婚礼上唱歌的女孩[3][4][5]。

威尔森在肯泽斯特郊区、帕拉马塔和城堡山长大[6][7] 。为避免被取笑，她在塔拉圣公会女子学校读书时把与女王同名的中间名略去[8][9][10]。威尔森有三个兄弟姐妹，姐妹莉柏蒂（Liberty）和安娜琪（Annachi），哥哥萊亞特（Ryot）[3][5][11]。莉柏蒂與萊亞特参与了澳大利亚版《极速前进》第一季[12]。威尔森的姑婆是華特·迪士尼的妻子莉莉安·邦茲（英语：Lillian Disney）[13]。
