该计划旨在建成一个完全由自由软件构造而不含任何专有软件及专有固件，使用Linux-libre——一个清除所有非自由代码（二进制blob（英语：binary blob））Linux核心的，与Ubuntu一样友善易用的GNU/Linux操作系统。[4]Trisquel依赖于用户的捐款。[5]它的标志是一个蓝色三曲枝图。[6]

共有4种版本安装镜像及1个源代码镜像。

Trisquel 编辑

此為標準版本，包含GNOME桌面環境，及51种语言的语言包。

Trisquel Mini 编辑

Trisquel Mini是主線Trisquel的替代版本，用於上網本及古舊機器。

它使用低資源需求的LXDE及輕量的GTK+、X Window System，以替代GNOME和Qt/KDE應用程式。[7]包含英語和西班牙語的語言包。

Trisquel Sugar TOAST 编辑

此版本采用Sugar学习桌面环境，用于儿童电脑。

NetInstall 编辑

此為基於文本介面的網路安裝方式，只需一个较小的CD鏡像。

Sources DVD 编辑

Trisquel的全部源代碼封裝在此鏡像中可供下載。

歷史 编辑

該計劃始於2004年，由維戈大學（英语：University of Vigo）贊助教育軟體的加利西亞語支援，後於2005年4月由GNU計劃創辦人理查·斯托曼作為特別來賓官方支援。[8]據計劃負責人Rubén Rodríguez言，奥伦塞省移民的南非及墨西哥社群對加利西亞語的支援有興趣。[9]

2008年12月左右，Trisquel包含於自由軟體基金會，見自由軟體基金會批准的Linux發行版。[10]

自第六版開始的所有Trisquel版本均基於Ubuntu長期支援版本[32]。

当前的版本都包括这些软件：

  • 稱為"Abrowser"的Firefox衍生版本，其不會建議安裝非自由的附加元件，也不包含有商标疑慮的藝術品與名稱。Abrowser會被重新命名是因為Mozilla 當時的商標政策不允許對其商標在未經同意的狀況下進行修改[33]。
  • 因為Adobe Flash Player是專有軟體，所以Trisquel並不會提供它，取而代之的是提供Gnash SWF檢視器[34]。
