植物志（拉丁文：flora，源自拉丁文花之義，專有名詞Flora則指羅馬神話裡的花之女神）是指一个地區的植物纪录和描述。
名稱 编辑
植物志的原字，源自於羅馬神話裡的女花神Flora，在此指一特定地區的植物纪录和描述 (此通常為分類處理)[1]。
按1913年韋氏字典的解釋：「某一地區(或地域，或時間裡)的自然生成的所有植物種類群所形成的一個完整系統，這樣的植物種類群的完整名單，或是專門論文稱為植物志」[1]
範圍 编辑
通常植物志之編寫乃取一特定區域，例如中國植物志，甚或地帶，如熱帶植物誌，對此特定區域內的所有植物(主要是維管束植物)予以形態的描述及分類的處理詳細記錄。因此植物志是某一地區在某一時間裡，完整記錄此區域裡所有的植物種類，除具有「詳實的描述外，更有檢索表提供物種與物種間的比對，所以一個地區的植物誌相當不容易完成[2]」，需要長期的分類學研究，而研究的材料來源，除了現地採集，便常常需得利用收藏在當地的標本館，或其他標本館裡的材料。

- 《丹麥植物志》 (Flora Danica)：Simon Paulli. 丹麥, 1847年，收錄丹麥的植物。

- 《瑞典植物志》(Flora Suecica)：卡爾·林奈，1745年，收錄瑞典的植物。

- 《印度馬拉巴爾植物志》(Hortus indicus malabaricus)：Hendrik van Rheede， 1683年–1703年，印度南方的馬拉巴爾地區。
