Bitbucket是一家为使用Git或Mercurial作为版本控制系统的项目提供代码托管服务的网站。Bitbucket同时提供商业与免费两种用户方案，它为免费用户提供无限量的私有项目存储（最多5人同时访问）。[1]私有仓库不会显示在个人页面，如果用户只有私有项目，那么会提示该用户没有任何项目存在。Bitbucket是用Python语言写成的，使用Django作为网页框架。[2]
历史
编辑Bitbucket曾是一个自主创业项目，2010年9月29日，Bitbucket获得了Atlassian的风险投资。[3]
Bitbucket was previously an independent startup. On September 29th, 2010, Bitbucket was acquired by VC-funded Atlassian.[3] Initially, Bitbucket only offered hosting support for Mercurial projects. On October 3rd, 2011, Bitbucket officially announced support for Git hosting.[4]
Logo
编辑The original symbol on the sticker of the bucket is the alchemical and planetary symbol for Mercury, and refers to Bitbucket hosting Mercurial repositories. The contents of the blue bucket is mercury metal.
When Bitbucket announced Git support, the sticker icon switched to be the primary logo of Atlassian.
