IAA Frankfurt 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLS 580 4Matic Mercedes-Benz showed the third generation of its largest SUV for the first time in Europe following its world debut in New York, the GLS, which started its career as the GL. The new GLS is based on the latest GLE and has become larger and wider. There is a choice of four engines, two petrol and two diesels. The GLS 450 4Matic is a 3.0-litre six-cylinder in-line (270 kW/367 hp) and 500 Nm of torque, yet with a further 250 Nm of torque and 16 kW/22 hp available via EQ Boost over short periods. The GLS 580 4Matic has a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo petrol engine with 48-volt technology and an output of 360 kW/489 hp and 700 Nm of torque, with a further 250 Nm of torque and 16 kW/22 hp available via EQ Boost over short periods.The two diesel-engined GLS models are the GLS 350 d 4Matic (210 kW/286 hp and 600 Nm torque) and 400 d 4Matic (243 kW/330 hp and 700 Nm torque). |
