English: Welcome message. As I was coming down the hill from the mountain at Curraghchosaly, I got a text message welcoming me to O2-IRL. This can happen sometimes even if you are in Northern Ireland and you get a stronger signal coming from a transmitter in the Irish Republic which is at least 10 miles away from this location. It is caused by the mountains shielding the weaker signals. The annoying thing is that you get charged for making calls at an international rate or you are charged for receiving incoming calls. Other places you have to be aware of this are the Gortin Glens near Omagh and Portstewart on the north Antrim coast.
