埃爾夫沃德 (威塞克斯)

埃爾夫沃德（古英語：Ælfweard；902年—924年8月2日）是長者愛德華的次子，也是長者愛德華和第二任妻子埃爾弗萊德所生的第一個孩子。

盎格魯-撒克遜編年史簡單地指出，埃爾夫沃德在他父親於924年7月17日去世後不久就去世，他們被埋葬在溫徹斯特。編年史手稿D指出他只比父親多活16天。這裡沒有明確地提到他的統治。然而，12世紀的羅切斯特的文本（英語：Textus Roffensis） [1]中的一份西撒克遜國王名單提到埃爾夫沃德是他父親的繼任者，在位四個星期[2]，介於他的父親長者愛德華和他的長兄埃塞爾斯坦之間，儘管他沒有被加冕，但這種說法並不被所有歷史學家接受。他還在部分基於早期材料的一份11世紀歷史資料新大教堂紀念冊被描述為國王[3][4]。另一方面，馬姆斯伯里的威廉總結了一段可追溯到埃爾夫沃德的兄長埃塞爾斯坦生平，指出埃塞爾斯坦是根據他父親的遺囑而成功登基的[5] 。
