English: Humboldt, on the moon. On page 96 of The Moon as Viewed by Lunar Orbiter (L. J. Kosofsky and Farouk El-Baz, NASA SP-200, 1970), a substantial portion of this image is shown with the following caption: "Humboldt, a large crater 200 kilometers across, having an unusually regular system of fresh-appearing rilles on its floor, resembling a spider web. The rilles cut across a complex of massive peaks near the center, a hummocky unit in the northwest part of the floor, and a light-toned plains unit covering the hummocks in the southeast. Some rilles are filled in by the dark mare material which occurs in patches around the periphery of the floor. The rilles may have formed as a result of slow isostatic rebound of the floor. Location: 26 (deg) S, 83 (deg) E. Framelet width: 12 kilometers."
