泰絲·格里森是華裔，畢業於史丹佛大學[4] ，並取得加州大學舊金山分校醫學博士學位[5]，之後夏威夷檀香山擔任內科醫師。
1995年，泰絲·格里森出版《貝納德的墮落》（Harvest），首度躍居《紐約時報》暢銷排行榜。《貝納德的墮落》引發美國器官移植協調人協會（American Association of Transplant Coordinators）的強烈反彈。
小說《漂離的伊甸》（Vanish）入圍愛倫坡獎，並且獲得尼洛獎(Nero Award)年度最佳推理小說[6][7][8]。《外科醫生》（The Surgeon）獲得瑞塔文學獎。
