描述 Targone's field mill from Vittorio Zonca's engineering treatise of 1607, showing two wagon-mounted mills worked by a horse-whim and gearing while stationary in camp. It was invented in Europe by Pompeo Targone in 1580, a man who was greatly involved in the Siege of La Rochelle during the Huguenot wars. It was featured in the Chinese book Qiqi Tushuo of 1627, which was a dual work of Johann Schreck and Wang Zheng. Ironically, the vehicle's concept was invented earlier in China during the Later Zhao (319–351) period, but was forgotton in China by the time that either books were published.
