法院筑体为取当地的石灰石所建造而成，而阶梯则取当地的核桃树所建构而成[3]。此建筑风格被形容为第二帝国或新文艺复兴建筑，以及意大利式建筑。
其筑体于1971年被收录至国家史迹名录中[1][3]。设计其筑体的建筑师约翰·G·哈斯克尔也是堪萨斯州议会大厦的设计者。
