劇情
編輯在美國的虛構城市基爾市坐落着一家超級大公司路曼工業（Lumon Industries）。該公司開發出一種俗稱「分離」（Severance）的記憶分割手術，在內部對員工進行試驗。接受手術的員工擁有兩種獨立的記憶：他們在上班時會忘記外面的一切日常生活與身份，只接受公司嚴格管理並為其工作；當下班時，員工會恢復日常生活的記憶，對公司內的工作事務一概不知。
該劇以路曼工業的一位職工馬克為主角，他與同事迪倫、歐文均接受分離手術，在宏觀數據精檢部門工作。此時部門因前同事彼得的突然離職而迎來新人海莉，但她的到來打破了該部門乃至公司的正常秩序。在之後發生的一系列事件中，兩個身份的馬克都逐漸對路曼工業產生懷疑，並各自發現這家公司背後的秘密。
