伊萬·尼雲
伊萬·莫頓·尼雲（英語：Ivan Morton Niven，1915年10月25日—1999年5月9日），美國數學家，從事數論研究，部分解決了華林問題。尼雲數、尼文常數、尼雲定理以他命名。他也是很多數學書籍的作者。
生平 編輯
尼文生於溫哥華。從英屬哥倫比亞大學畢業後，在芝加哥大學獲得博士學位[1]，師從著名的數論大師雷奧那德·尤金·迪克遜（數學家楊武之導師）。從1947年到1981年，他一直在俄勒岡大學任教。從1983年到1994年，他都是美國數學協會主席[2]。
研究 編輯
1944年，尼文證明了1770年愛德華·華林提出的華林問題的主體部分。尼文曾和埃爾德什·帕爾共同發表論文，所以他的埃爾德什數是1[3]
認可 編輯
1970年，尼文獲得了萊斯特·R·豪摩斯獎[4]。2000年，一顆1998年發現的小行星被命名為12513 Niven[5][6]
